Blue Moon Marquee

Blue Moon Marquee is a genre-defying musical duo consisting of A.W. Cardinal on vocals and guitar, and Jasmine Colette, also known as Badlands Jass, on vocals, bass, and drums. With many years of touring experience, they have honed their unique sound that blends elements of blues, jazz, folk, country, swing, and Indigenous soul into a smooth, swinging and jumping musical journey.

Their fifth album “Scream, Holler & Howl” co-produced by Duke Robillard, has received widespread recognition and awards, including the Blues Foundation’s Blues Music Award for Emerging Artist of the Year and multiple Maple Blues Awards for Album of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, Acoustic Act of the Year and Entertainer of the Year.

The album topped charts in the US and Canada, reaching #1 on the Earshot National Folk/Roots/Blues chart and #9 on the National Jazz chart, a rare feat.

With their previous album “Bare Knuckles and Brawn,” they were nominated as Blues Artist of the Year at the Western Canadian Music Awards and Indigenous Songwriter of the Year at the Canadian Folk Music Awards. The album was well-received for its powerful original mix of swing styles with jazz and blues, and it topped both the National Folk/Roots/Blues charts and the National Jazz charts simultaneously.

Blue Moon Marquee is known for their outstanding musicianship, vivacious live performances, and lyrical candor, and they have been the most requested band in the country for the Canadian International Jazz Festival Circuit.

They have opened for artists like Lisa Fischer and Mary Chapin Carpenter and continue to spread their music and influence through heavy touring and word-of-mouth.
