This internationally recognized artist, is a French-Lebanese jazz trumpeter and composer, currently hailed as the leading instrumentalist in the French music scene. He was born in Beirut, Lebanon, in a family of intellectuals and artists. He is the only trumpeter in the world who plays Arabic music with a very special four-tone trumpet, invented by his father in the sixties.

His family and he ran away from Lebanon because of the civil war, and ended up in France, where he was a student of the great Maurice André. His father also taught him the classical technique, baroque, modern, contemporary and classical Arabic music, as well as the art of improvisation and Arabic modes. He is considered a pioneer in the world of contemporary jazz thanks to his fusion of pop, soul, electro, hip-hop, and French chansons with the music of his Lebanese roots.

When he was only twenty years old, Ibrahim won several major international classical music competitions, and began his career as a classical musician. Throughout his career, he has been asked to perform for a wide variety of artists such as Sting, Salif Keïta, Amadou & Mariam, Tryo, Matthieu Chédid, and many others.

Since 2007, Ibrahim has produced, composed, arranged, and recorded several albums, has also composed more than ten classical symphonic works, and created original scores for a variety of films.

In the course of his career we can find albums like “Diasporas” (2007), “Diachronism” (2009), “Diagnostic” (2011), “Wind” (2012), “Illusions” (2013), “Au pays d’Alice…” (2014), “Kalthoum” (2015), “Red & Black Light” (2015), “Dalida” (2017) and “Levantine Symphony” (2018). As an extra, we can find 4 original scores of films, and 2 live albums. After having approached in a very ‘sui generis’ way the world of the contemporary opera together with Oxmo Puccino in “Au Pays d Álice …”, Maalouf changed from record label. On September 2019 Ibrahim released his album “S3NS”.
